Recovery Specialist/Volunteer Coordinator
The mission of TLC Recovery Programs is to decrease stigma and harm associated with substance use by providing peer-based recovery support, education, advocacy, and resource navigation for individuals and families. The Recovery Specialist/Volunteer Coordinator is a twofold position. The Recovery Specialist's role is to support others in their recovery from substance use disorders by serving as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to recovering individuals. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for all aspects regarding volunteers at TLC. This includes recruiting, developing, training, and supporting volunteers while simultaneously promoting volunteer opportunities and conveying the organization's purpose to the public.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TIME ON TASK EXPECTATIONS
Comprehensive Recovery Support for individuals and families (45%)
• Scheduled sessions to provide recovery support and ongoing case management assistance
• Develop strong, healthy relationships with participants that support their healing processes and
growth in their recovery journey
• Actively identify and support linkages to community resources that support the participant’s
goals and interests.
• Perform intakes screenings and design recovery plans with new members requesting services
Volunteer Coordination (25%)
• Recruiting, training, and supervising new volunteers
• Oversee training and scheduling of volunteers to fill general volunteer roles
• Support and assist TLC Recovery Manager in supervision of special projects volunteers who may
be working short term projects within the center or at special event functions
• Assists with providing peer performance reviews for volunteers
• Oversee and manage the quarterly membership meetings
Documentation (20%)
• Complete required electronic documentation and program-specific forms thoroughly,
accurately, and on time using various data platforms as required by contract.
• Accurately report time worked using TimeWorksPlus
Meetings/Trainings/Supervisions (10%)
• Works towards obtaining certification in recovery coaching by the NH Licensing Board.
Participate in supervision and self-evaluation
• Participate in required trainings specific towards the recovery field and professional
development
• Attend and contribute towards scheduled team meetings
PREFERENCES (Starting wages contingent upon education and experience)
• Bachelor’s degree
• At least one year of education and experience in human services (recovery field preferred)
• Intermediate computer skills
• Proof of Covid-19 vaccination or religious/medical exemption

Job Title: Recovery Specialist/Volunteer Coordinator Hours: 40 hours per week
Department: TLC Recovery Programs Salary: $22-$24 per hour
